I completed a math lesson on the perimeter and area of different shapes. The students were given a pre-test at the beginning of the unit. The average student knew 40% of the content. At the completion of my lesson, I assessed the students. The class average grade was 60%. As an effective teacher, I went back and retaught the lesson, using a different instructional strategy. At the completion of this lesson, the class average grade was 90%.
